How do some teachers use Khan Academy with their students for non-math subjects?

We have a growing library of content for learners of all ages. Click "SUBJECTS" at the top or visit our library to see videos on art history, the sciences, personal finance, and more!

Here are some ways we've seen teachers use videos with their students:

  • ( 1 ) If students have been absent, they can watch a video to catch up on what they've missed.
  • ( 2 ) If you want students to gain exposure to a concept before teaching it in class, ask students to watch the video for homework. We encourage students to take notes and write questions while watching videos to promote active listening.
  • ( 3 ) If you want students to find greater clarity on a specific concept, encourage them to find a related video on KA to see it explained in another way.
  • ( 4 ) If you want students to dive deeper into a specific concept, find a video that covers your objective but uses a different approach. Then ask your students to explain the difference between the two approaches.
